We absolutely fell in love with Trails End Guesthouse. 💕 It is so beautiful and nestled in the perfect setting. We really enjoyed sitting out back around the fire.🔥 Jon and Shellie are amazing hosts & have thought of everything. ♥️ It is decorated so beautifully inside & so much personal attention to detail and amenities. We had a wonderful time & are going back this fall. 🍁 It is now on our annual getaway list. You will not be disappointed!!😊

A host can often make or break an experience and Shellie definitely made this place. Incredible two nights in her cozy neck of the woods. Steaks and pork chops on the tiny grill and corn and red skin potatoes cooked directly in the fire the first night. Fresh eggs compliments of Gus the Rooster and his ladies in the morning with pancakes and other tasties we procured at the local grocery store. Canoeing nearby. Bunnies. Dogs. Deer. Plenty of loveliness to go around. My wife and I loved it!

We had an absolutely lovely stay at The Guesthouse! We were in the area while our oldest two were at camp and this was the perfect place to enjoy a few days with our youngest. We loved the serene setting and beautiful drive to the property. Meeting all the animal friends from chickens, dogs, and goldfish, to mama box turtles laying eggs, baby bluebirds who followed us down the path on a walk in the woods, and curious butterflies who liked to say, "Hello!" My children loved the time outside and felt like Ms. Shellie and Mr. Jon were, "the coolest". The guest house was clean, comfortable, and had everything we could need. The little touches were noticed (coffee, maple syrup, eggs, pancakes, and little candy treats) and it made us feel right at home. I think it's especially worth noting that the hosts were more than friendly and happy to talk, but they also allowed you to enjoy the space independently. It was a beautiful balance of friendliness and privacy. We would highly recommend!

Where to start… Shellie is just the most perfect host! And she has thought of everything you would ever need to make your stay feel like home but better than home…this four day stay for my husband and I was just what we needed. She has added so many special touches to her little cabin, she went above and beyond what a regular host would do! This is what makes them so special…she truly cares about her guests and their comfort! We were so blessed and we feel like we were rested up even after all our motorcycle riding. Can’t thank them enough for EVERYTHING, IT WAS ALL PERFECT! God Bless, The Irvine’s

A great place to stay. Very cozy and quiet and has everything that’s needed for a comfortable visit. The surrounding yard and gardens are beautiful. Jon and Shellie are the kindest, most gracious hosts. They even delivered fresh farm-raised eggs one morning for breakfast. We were there trout fighting the AuSable and the guest house was very convenient to the North Branch and the trophy waters. Highly recommended.

I ran out of words to praise this place on another site! The cabin is adorable. It has everything you need, including a little stocked medical cabinet in the bathroom. Shellie truly has thought of everything. Ever stayed in an Airbnb and not been able to find the switch for the fan? Not here! I loved how organized it was and that there was so much handy information provided. The sleeping loft was cool and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom is tiny but cute and super clean and did what it needed too. A smart TV. Wireless that works well. A firepit with wood provided. The cabin is a little off the beaten track, but perfect for a quiet break. Fresh eggs from the hens and maple syrup for breakfast! We had an awesome weekend. Hope we'll be back. Oh and it's beautiful. Love the cabin itself and Shellie's garden is a gorgeous backdrop.

The Space

As soon as you enter Winding Trail, you know it will be a peaceful spot. Folks meander through the garden, take photos, and relax while listening to the birds.
The Guesthouse has everything you will need to stay for a weekend or a couple weeks. Two levels include a winter themed spacious loft with queen sized bed, main floor kitchenette with all the amenities to cook on site, and a cozy sitting room with a full-sized sleeper sofa, smart TV, DVD’s, books, and a few games.
Enjoy your own campfire to watch the stars or roast marshmallows.
The Guesthouse is filled with special little touches for you to enjoy including a sample of our homemade maple syrup and fresh eggs delivered on your first morning!
Trail’s End Guesthouse is sure to be your next 5 star retreat!

Guest Access

Winding Trail is a private gravel road with lots of hills and curves. There is a long driveway that passes the main house. Ample parking for a couple of vehicles, toy hauler, bikes, and snowmobiles.

Other Things To Note

The Guesthouse is “semi-unplugged” meaning that there is not satellite, cable, or a TV antenna. We do have Wifi available but is it limited on speed for our neck of the woods. It also can have ‘intermittent’ days.
Trail’s End Guesthouse sits in the shade of trees on a cement slab so stays somewhat cool inside if windows remain shut during the day and open at night. There is 2 ceiling fans and a powerful portable fan in the bedroom for air circulation. There is also an additional heating & cooling unit in the loft for your comfort. During the cold season, a gas wall furnace heats the Guesthouse. It has a fan to push the heat out. Unfortunately, all wall furnace blowers are somewhat noisy.
NOTE: AWD or 4WD vehicles are suggested for winter travel.
